Selina + Frank’s picture perfect micro-wedding

There’s nothing like planning your wedding during a pandemic. You can ask Selina and Frank about it, they know that stress very well.

What was meant to be a full room at Chateau Le Parc ended up as one table, filled only with the bride and groom’s nearest and dearest friends and family. Despite the smaller guest count, the wedding was absolutely phenomenal.

When we started working on their invitations, Selina described the wedding as being “fall romantic but with modern vibes”. The colours were blushes, mauves and ivory with pops of deep red. Once I started speaking to Selina and got to know her, I knew that I wanted the invitation to be relatively simple with a luxurious feel to it. We decided to include a map which included two venue illustrations and kept the crest as a staple throughout her stationery. She upgraded to our tree-free cotton paper which felt as luxurious as the wedding was.

Fortunately, the hardest decisions we had to make was deciding on envelope colours. We opted for an ivory outer envelope which matched the colour of letterpress used for the invitations. Included was an envelope liner featuring a corner floral design printed in ivory. We added the couple’s crest to the RSVP envelope to give it an extra pop.

The entire invitation suite was beautifully held together with a vellum jacket, featuring a printed ivory florals. It was all sealed shut with a custom floral wax seal designed to compliment the suite. We initially also struggled with the colour of the wax seal but knew we had to pick the “Rosa” colour given that it was the groom’s late mother’s name. The colour was ultimately a perfect match to the RSVP envelope.

Overall, the invitation suite was muted but vibrant with the pops of pink. It was elegant but the hand-calligraphy script softened the suite and didn’t make it feel stuffy. The floral details throughout were the perfect prologue to the floral-filled reception.

Their ceremony took place at the very beautiful St. Clare of Assisi Church in Woodbridge.

The stunning couple and their bridal party escaped off for some group photographs. Despite it being an October wedding, they were blessed with sunny and seasonably warm weather.

The jaw-dropping reception followed at Chateau Le Parc. Flowers by Flowers Time adorned the tables. Their wedding planner, Tamara from Fab Fete Events, made the space look absolutely spectacular. When Selina sent me her wedding photos, I was completed amazed - it looked even better than some of the photoshoots that I’ve been a part of. Just take a look at this tablescape and let it speak for itself:

The menus were printed in a beautiful soft nude colour to match their invitations with calligraphy headers. Each place setting also included a folded place card, with digitally printed calligraphy names adorned with our Selina wax seal.

Even though the wedding was not at all what this bride and groom anticipated when they first started planning, it looked absolutely breathtaking. After their wedding, Selina shared that the wedding was everything she wanted it to be despite the smaller guest count. She had thought that she was going to do a bigger reception when it was safe but after her wedding day, decided that she didn’t need that. (I totally understood this but part of me was definitely disappointed- I loved working with Selina and would not have minded working with her a little bit longer!)

Working with this couple was a blessing. I’m so grateful that they chose me for their stationery and I’m so thankful to have been able to work with them (even in a pandemic!). Once their thank you cards are done, their design file will be closed but their invitation suite - The Selina - will always have a special piece of my heart.
