Samantha + Colin: the prettiest elopement

I’ve been MIA recently with the ease of restrictions/return of weddings and the endless work that has come out of that. But I couldn’t help stop and take a moment to share photographs of this elopement as soon as I received the gallery from Into the Aisle.

Weddings can be equally as stressful as they are pretty and sometimes clients get worried about losing the whole point of marriage in the event. Things can get especially difficult and frustrating when you’re endlessly planning and postponing because of a pandemic. Sam + Colin lived through that stress and eventually decided to go back “why” and decided on a private elopement. This picture-perfect elopement is a wonderful reminder that you don’t need a massive guest list to celebrate your love and commitment. When it is just you and your partner, everything you do is intentional and just for you.

When Lexy at Lexy Marie Weddings + Events asked me if I could do stationery for this private elopement, there was no way I could say no.

The elopement announcement was original artwork in graphite with a loose leaf illustration inspired by the venue (Back to the Cabin). The cottage location was too perfect not to draw. We added a watercolour-washed envelope and a champagne one. I offered up some vintage postage to add to the flat lay details.

Clients like this are the reason why I love doing what I do - Their focus was on their love and everything they had done was done with intention.

Their first look was followed by a private ceremony before a private dinner on the deck of this charming cottage.

A private elopement didn’t mean that details were disregarded - if anything, details were that much more valued.

The menus and place cards were handwritten with a light watercolour wash and ribbon detailing.

Receiving this gallery filled me with absolute joy. It was such a nice reminder that a long guest list and extravagance aren’t needed to celebrate a marriage beautifully. At the end of the day it’s you and your partner and the extras you choose because you want them.
